His teaching method assumes you do most of the work yourself - he gives you tools, you then go learn by practicing using them. exams are clear, impartial, and straightforward. If your major requires using math, I'd highly recommend him, since these skills are very important later on. If you just want to get a math req out of the way, take someone else.

Great guy who can be pretty hillarious. He isn't always the great at teaching, but he tries. He is always available in his office to help you though, and is better one on one. His exams are taken straight out of examples or problems in the book and hw.

difficult. difficult. difficult. and Lots and Lots and Lots of time. Rest of reviews are true. He'll go over something in class, assign about 20 HW Problems that you have no idea what to do. So, then your faced with hours at the Math Lab trying to teach you something that he never taught you in class. exams averaged about 30's almost every-time..DO NOT TAKE!

He will do example problems in class but when you go do the homework, there are atleast 20 more problems you have no idea how to do. You will spend a lot of time in the mathlab if you take him and you really do need to study. Pretty difficult class!

Super guy. As a teacher, if you are going to major in physics and understand algebra take him. If not, DON'T!

The reviews are true--he is a friendly guy and very accommodating. His class is just difficult. Not so much the material, but the way it is taught. Teaching methods matter, and his aren't dumbed down for the math impaired. Sometimes skips steps and doesn't know "elementary" tricks (PEMDAS). If you're great at math without having to try difficult, take him.

I had Siefker for Precal 2 and Cal3. He is probably the friendlyst teacher at ASU. He loves his students; he will even sit and talk with you about ANYTHING for hours. His courses are difficult. I love math and do well, but his courses are difficult. Just go to class, ask for help in his office and show that you're trying and you'll be fine.

Doesn't like to be questioned. He becomes very confrontational, and expects you to know everything he courses on beforehand. He teaches like he is only reviewing information you should already know, rather than actually teaching it to you.

He is a very great guy, very friendly. But he doesn't like to explain homework problems, and he says you should know the material already. Class average was around 62
