On Aug 28, Andres Ibarguen, a former student athlete for the ASU's Ram basketball team, signed to play overseas in the Dutch Basketball League for Basketball Community Gelderland.
During his time at ASU, Ibarguen took home LSC Defensive Player of the Week honors, scored a career-high 28 points, tied the school record for rebounds in a game against West Texas A&M with 22 and recorded 13 double-doubles. He ended the short season averaging a double-double, 14.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, all while being named to Second Team All-LSC, Second Team All-South Central Regional and named to All-Texas Division 2 Team by Dave Campbell’s Texas Basketball.
"Andres is the bully center we were looking for," Coach Matthew Otten said in a BCG press release. "He is a strong rebounder and a great finisher and is an amazing character off the court. I'll look forward to working with him here in Gelderland."
