Sigma Kappa sorority bagged first place on Oct. 22 at the 21st Annual Brisket Cook-Off, which began Homecoming Week.

"It’s a great way to start the week off," said senior Remington Jackson, who was also in charge of cooking their entry, said. "We’re looking forward to many other wins."

The team also included Caroline Wallace, Rosalyn Hollingsworth, Abbygail Skiff, Cheyenne Maples and Landri Vasut.

Lambda Chi Alpha and Kappa Sigma finished second and third place, respectively.

A total of 18 Registered Student Organizations and Greek Life organizations participated in the event.

Senior Connie Hernandez said, "I really was just worried about everything not coming together. I’m really excited that everything went well today."

A washer tournament also took place; Pi Kappa Alpha emerged as the champion followed by Ram Rugby for second place and the Block and Bridle Club for third place.
