Listen more, talk less

We live in a loud era.

It seems as if everyone is holding a megaphone and shouting out what they believe and yelling even louder when someone has a dissenting opinion.

God forbid that someone disagrees.

Everyone has an opinion and everyone wants to be heard, but no one wants to listen.

No one wants to close their mouth and hear where the other person is coming from.

If you would just shut up and give someone a chance to express themselves uninterrupted, you may learn something.

I have found that growth cannot happen when I am too busy being comfortable in my own knowledge.

In the past, when I have experienced something new, talked to someone who is different from me and went into everything with an open mind, I was changed.

You cannot grow when you sit in a bubble and only interact with people who agree with you.

Get out and go listen.

Talk to someone who sees things differently from you and try to find middle ground.

It is okay to disagree with someone. It is not okay to shout at someone, call them names, and behave like a child.

There is this weird stigma around beliefs that says that you can’t disagree with someone and still be friends.

That is crazy to me.

One of the most rewarding friendships that I have is with someone who is my total opposite.

There are very few things that we actually agree on, but we enjoy learning from each other and talking things through.

Communication is a wonderful thing that we should do more of.

We should learn how to talk to people who share different opinions, and we need to learn how to listen to understand instead of listening to reject.
