ASU’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts prepares to displays artwork in November from graphic design and fine arts students.

"I think that it’s important for the school to showcase art," Nate Borter, freshman, said. "Having it here makes it more accessible than just having it at a museum."

A total of three exhibits will feature the artwork in the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building, two for graphic design students and one for fine arts.

"I’m glad that ASU supports [the arts] as much as they do" Kelli McLaurin, sophomore, said.

Spectators can view the pieces from Nov. 27 to Dec. 15.

The department will also present Larry Graeber’s artwork. Graeber is a San Antonio-based sculptor and painter.

"Fiction: Sculpture and Drawings by Larry Graeber" will be shown Oct. 2 through Nov. 3.

Graeber will also be a panelist for the 5th Biennial Richard and Pam Salmon Sculpture Symposium, which will feature a sculpting competition, in October.

"I think that it’s a great thing that we have galleries," McLaurin said. "I know that a lot of schools don’t appreciate the arts as much as ASU does."

All events are open free to the general public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
