The UCPC, University Center Program Council, is an organization that fosters student life and development through different organized activities and events.

These events encourage student involvement and participation on campus.

Mikaea Gililland said "[UCPC] helps everyone get involved and feel included. It also brings people together."

The organization brings more than 50 different programs and events each year that range from spirit-based activities, to educational and developmental events, to activities that promote and exhibit student creativity.

UCPC also allows students to be in positions of leadership since students plan and execute all events, which includes live music, mixers and open mics, among others.

Gabby Zuniga is the Club Café Chairperson. Club Café is a monthly coffeehouse style entertainment event.

UCPC also has an art and film committee, concert committee, and daytime committee. Each committee specializes in providing different events during the academic year.

Zuniga said she was excited for the Josh Abbott Band’s performance and other upcoming musical performances.

"I really love the Drag Rave. It’s so much fun, last year was great!"

Drag Rave is ASU’s take on drag shows, where men dress up in clothing of the opposite sex with make up and take up feminine gender roles for entertainment.

"I appreciate the UCPC events, they are fun to go to, and they really do help you meet new people," Sidnee Molloy said.

UCPC: Crossroad Live will feature singer/songwriter Lamont Landers on September 7. UCPC will also host Gold Rush, an event to support Belle Volleyball, on September 20.

On October 25, it will have its annual UCPC Dance Marathon.
