Ex-Tech administrator Robert Shindell, who was hired by ASU Sept. 8 as special assistant to the Provost, no longer has a one-year contract with the university as of Wednesday, according to Director of Communications and Marketing Preston Lewis.
According to the Human Resources Director Jesse Gomez, the office of the Provost made a decision to end the employment relationship effective Sept. 30.
Shindell will receive compensation for the time of employment, Gomez said.
Lewis was unable to provide additional, specific information because the issue is a personnel matter. When the Ram Page called Shindell for comment, a man identifying himself as "Robert" answered the phone but said that Shindell was unavailable and asked for a message to pass along to him. The Ram Page has not received a returned call from Shindell as of Thursday.
ASU President, Dr. Joseph C. Rallo, and Provost Dr. Donald Coers were out of the office and unavailable for comment Wednesday.
The office of communication and marketing did not issue a press release concerning Shindell's arrival at ASU or his separation of employment.
