Texas A&M Kingsville scoreless against Rambelles in three-game set

Shutout has a whole new meaning to the No. 4-ranked Rambelle softball team. After a three-game set against the Texas A&M Kingsville Javelinas, the team did not let a single runner cross home plate en route to a series sweep. The three matches were the 'Belles final games in the Lone Star Conference South Division of the season.

In the beloved Disney classic "The Mighty Ducks," one of the most infamous chants the team cheered when looking for inspiration was a simple crescendo of the word "Quack." The team would chant it repeatedly until breaking into a riot then rushing out of the locker room to eventually beat the superior team.

Rams outgun East Central

Two words can sum up the Rams' four-game series against the East Central Tigers: Pure dominance. Although the Tigers snuck in a 3-4 win, the Rams made up for the loss in offense - and lots of it. In the three Ram victories over the Tigers, the team outscored ECU 48-12.

Women's golf signs two for fall squad

This time next year the new Women's Golf team will be participating in its first Lone Star Conference Tournament. But with the upcoming season nearly approaching, the new program has grabbed its first two recruits for the 2008-09 season. "The thing about Serena is she's still learning the game and has so much upside," future coach of the 'Belles Jason Hase said.

Football concludes spring drills with dominating defense

Defense was the dominate force in the Rams' final spring game heading into the 2008 season. Although no official score was kept, the Ram defense held the offense to a pair of field goals and touchdown. Sophomore Tanner Jacobs also assembled two interceptions during the spring drills.

Track, field gear toward Lone Star Conference meet

All the kinks are worked out and the engine is fine-tuned. That's right. The Angelo State Track and Field team is poised and vigorously preparing for the Lone Star Conference Championships. The preparation began after the Rams and Rambelles competed at the Michael Johnson Classic at Baylor University last weekend.
