NCAA cut games in balancing act

The Angelo State athletic programs will soon be doing something they are unfamiliar with: losing games. It will not be because they are being out performed on the fields and courts by their opponents. These losses will be to the NCAA. At its annual convention in Atlanta, GA Jan.
Ram rack up 30 signees

The Angelo State football coaching staff was "pleasantly surprised" Wednesday as the Rams added 30 high school signees to National Letters of Intent as signing period opened. "This recruiting class is very balanced," said head coach Dale Carr, who enters his sixth season at the helm of the Rams this fall.
Basketball Update
The Rams won their third straight game Jan. 30 and were rewarded Wednesday with a spot in the latest Division II South Central regional poll. Defeating Eastern New Mexico 92-88 in Portales, the Rams were once again led by junior LaMarshall Corbett with a game-high 27 points.
