The Registered Nurse is responsible forthe provision of patient care, through the initiation and continuation of thenursing process; a plan of care is developed based upon assessed identifiedneeds. The Registered Nurse works closely with the medical staff, as well asother professional staff, ancillary department members, visitors and families. National certifications inyour specialty preferred
License/Certifications
License in good standing to practice as aRegistered Nurse in the State of Texas
BCLS required (current at time ofhire)/maintained throughout term of employment
ACLS required within 6 months of hire/must havecurrent ACLS to be a Charge Nurse /maintained throughout term of employment
NRP required within 3 months of hire/must havecurrent NRP to be a Charge Nurse /maintained throughout term of employment
Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months ofhire/must have current Fetal Monitoring Course to be a Charge Nurse / maintainthroughout term of employment
TNCC preferred
Continuing Education Program- AWHONN 's (Association of Women's Health, Obstetrical andNeonatal Nursing) POEP (PerinatalOrientation Educational Program) Completion of course within 1 year ofsignature of this job description or within one year of PCEP (Perinatal Continuing Education Program) expiration.
