Shindell leaves ASU
Ex-Tech administrator Robert Shindell, who was hired by ASU Sept. 8 as special assistant to the Provost, no longer has a one-year contract with the university as of Wednesday, according to Director of Communications and Marketing Preston Lewis.

Students may have noticed a few changes in the UC as the for-home-use pingpong tables and pool table have been taken down and replaced with for-public-use quality tables.
Last year, about $1,000 was spent on recreational equipment in the UC including the well-used pingpong tables and pool table to help provide a more inviting atmosphere for students.…

A new mentor/mentee program plans to match mentors with first-generation freshman starting next week in an effort to help these first-time college students adjust to the academic and social struggles. Center for International Studies splits funds with Goodfellow Air Force Base
A bill that would give $4 million to ASU and Goodfellow Air Force Base is, as of Thursday, awaiting the signature President George W. Bush to be signed into law.
The grant will provide $1.66 million to Goodfellow and $2.4 million to ASU's Center for International Studies.…
